Highlights about the Venn Diagram

·      I developed the Venn diagram as a teaching tool to help patients understand the relationship between addiction, mental illness, and trauma. Addiction is a very treatable condition, IF the recovery plan attends to all areas of clinical need. This framework has helped patients and families better understand the need for comprehensive and integrated care. When the plan is not comprehensive and integrated, the result is disillusionment and suffering for patients and families. The Venn diagram received an award from Office of Information Technology at OU Health Sciences Center in 2016 for the first clinical copyright of its kind, that also earned licensing fees.

·       The Venn diagram provided the clinical framework for ExecuCare, an OU Physicians program to address addiction, mental illness, and trauma in healthcare professionals and executives in 2005.

·       Authored several articles in journals and national addictions magazines and newsletters on the Venn diagram.

·       Presented nationally on the Venn diagram at addictions conferences and the National Federation of Physician Health Programs.

·       The Venn diagram provided the clinical framework for Women’s 90 residential treatment Center in Pink, OK in 2013, Milagro Ranch (served as a co-founder).

·       Milagro Ranch sold to Valir Health and rebranded as Vizown. Valir Health purchased the exclusive licensing agreement for the Venn diagram from 2014-2018.

·       Venn diagram used as clinical DNA to develop The Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) detox in 2015 at Valir Hospital (served as a co-founder).

·        Venn diagram used as exhibit in a 2019 landmark case, State of Oklahoma v. Johnson & Johnson. I served as the State of Oklahoma’s first witness.

·     Served as a program and clinical consultant to INTEGRIS: Arcadia Trails from 2012-2020. Served as the Clinical Committee Chair and the team pioneered the program’s integrated philosophy of treatment.
